The world is awaiting the arrival of the royal baby as the Duchess of Cambridge’s due date draws closer.
Now, with just over a week to Kate’s mid-July due date, the world is excitedly anticipating the arrival of baby Cambridge. One man who is more prepared than anyone is the Duchess’ gynaecologist who has told friends he is awaiting a call from the palace that could come “any minute now”.

Dr Marcus Setchell, who will help deliver Prince William and Kate’s first child, has been making sure he is ready for when the important call comes.
“He said he’s got to be primed and ready for the call from the Palace at any moment,” a friend told The Express. “He hasn’t touched a drop for two weeks.”
Marcus, who has been the Queen’s gynaecologist for the 18 years, attended to Kate when she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum in December 2012, when she was admitted to hospital.
During his time with the Royal Family, Marcus has delivered the Countess of Wessex’s two children, Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount James.
Pregnant Kate is expected to give birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in London following in the footsteps of William’s mother, who gave birth to both Prince William and Prince Harry at the hospital.
The Duchess is planning to have a natural birth at the hospital, and the expectant couple confirmed they plan to follow William’s parents’ tradition, with William being by Kate’s side as she gives birth.
Prince Charles was present at Prince William’s birth in 1982, and in 1984 for Prince Harry’s birth breaking royal tradition, and it has been confirmed William plans to be there as well.
The Duke who will be working in Anglesey as a RAF search and rescue pilot in the weeks leading up to the birth will be rushed to London if Kate goes into labour while he is on duty.
