If the fashion rumours are to be believed, the Duchess of Cambridge has a new stylist advising her, and she’s a former British Vogue magazine editor.
Richard Eden from the Daily Mail reports that Kate’s new stylist is allegedly Virginia Chadwyck-Healey.
According to her personal website, which she uses to run her consulting, presenting, styling and writing portfolios, Chadwyck-Healy’s experience at British Vogue as manager of the fashion advertising portfolio and as Executive Retail Editor has given her “a breadth of knowledge across the fashion, jewellery and beauty industries.”
Chadwyck-Healy, also known as Ginnie, is reportedly an old friend of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and attended their 2011 wedding.
She wrote about the occasion, saying that “To my great surprise, I found myself included in the fashion reviews as one of the ‘best-dressed wedding guests,” in an Emilia Wickstead ensemble.
“To my mother’s horror, I didn’t wear tights.”
A royal source allegedly told Eden that “Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon. She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence.”
The source continued that “Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
One of the outfits Eden attributes to Chadwyck-Healy’s advice is the purple Gucci blouse and black trousers Kate wore to visit the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre in mid-March.
Chadwyck-Healy’s website states that her approach to styling is “Condense, Curate, Create,” and she works to “personally ‘condense’ your wardrobe, sort through and ‘curate’ new ways of wearing pieces you never knew worked well together and ‘create’ space for new pieces that Ginnie then advises on.”
Chadwyck-Healy’s stylist services have been used by the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chickenshed, and Smart Works.
Natasha Archer Jackson, Kate’s regular stylist and personal assistant, is currently on maternity leave, having given birth to a son in late December.
She was presented with the Royal Victorian Order in this year’s Queen’s Honour’s List, which is usually given to staff upon them leaving their posts, but Kensington Palace confirmed that Natasha would be returning from maternity leave.
