Daily Mail: “Kate Has Been Given An Official Due Date Of July 13th”

medium_5918722135The Daily Mail reported last night that the Duchess of Cambridge has been given an official due date of 13th July. Citing friends close to the Duchess, the Mail on Sunday wrote: “A friend of the pair revealed: ‘Some of Kate and William’s closest pals were at a barbecue hosted by a family friend of the Royals recently. They were all discussing the fact that Kate’s baby is due to be born on July 13. Everyone was very excited.’”

We already know that the Duchess is due to give birth some time in mid-July. The 13th July this year is a Saturday.

The only reason the pregnancy was revealed to the public when it was was because the Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to hospital with ‘Hyperemesis Gravidarum’, or HG. Having now recovered from the illness, she’s progressing well with the pregnancy.

This is what we already know about the Duchess and her baby:

  • She is due to give up royal engagements from around mid-June until after the birth of the Royal baby.
  • Her last recorded engagement at the moment is on 13th June, where The Duchess of Cambridge will attend a Princess Cruises’ ship naming ceremony in Southampton.
  • The Duchess revealed that she was expecting her first child to be born in mid-July.
  • The Daily Mail reports a due date of 13th July.
  • The baby will be titled as ‘HRH Prince/Princess <NAME> of Cambridge.
  • The first born child will be King or Queen of the UK one day. Previously, if the royal baby was a girl, it could be overtaken in line to the throne by a younger brother.

On the day of the birth, St James’s Palace will issue a press release when the baby is born and its gender, names are announced soon after.

The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge are likely to choose a traditional names for their first child for multiple reasons. Odds for a Princess Alexandra have been slashed recently, though recent evidence suggests the baby is a boy.

Either way, we won’t find out for sure until its birth date when the Palace formally announce the birth.
