The Duchess of Cambridge has become an aunt after her sister, Pippa Matthews, gave birth to a baby boy on Monday, 15 October.
The new cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis was born at 1.58 pm and weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces. Both Pippa and her son are doing well.
Kensington Palace have said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are “thrilled” for Pippa and James.
Catherine’s younger sister gave birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital – the same unit where Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were born.
The cost of giving birth in the unit where Kate was admitted during her labour is thought to cost around £7,500.
Pippa and her husband James attended the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on Friday.
The Lindo Wing has a history of welcoming members of The Royal Family into the world, so it is hardly a surprise that Mrs Matthews chose the exclusive unit give birth in.
As well as the Cambridge Family using the facilities, Diana, Princess of Wales, gave birth to both Prince William and Prince Harry at the hospital.
The Princess Royal also gave birth to Peter and Zara Phillips there.
