At two-years-old, Princess Charlotte’s ‘brand’ is worth a staggering £3 billion

She’s just two-years-old, and Princess Charlotte’s “brand” worth is an incredible £3 billion — or $3.8 billion in U.S. dollars. And she proved her influence in the marketplace the very day she was born when she was photographed leaving St. Mary’s Hospital wrapped in a GH Hurt & Sons shaw. The garment sold out almost immediately.

Brand Finance told Marie Claire UK this has nothing to do with how much she will one day inherit or how much she could earn, but her “brand” in terms of influencing the marketplace. Brand Finance estimated that as she grows older, The Princess will become one of the world’s leading brand influencers.

Her brother, Prince George, is worth less, a still impressive £2.4 billion (just over US$3 billion). There’s an explanation for this, Brand Finances marketing and communications director Robert Haigh explained to Marie Claire: ‘This is actually as simple as the relative size of the men’s and women’s fashion markets, by which I mean that Charlotte’s endorsement effect will likely be felt across a much broader range of products and brands or types of clothing than will George’s.

“Allowing a greater scope for the monetization of her ‘brand’ and hence a higher value.”

Though the marketplace value of Prince George and Princess Charlotte are quite staggering, neither compare to the marketplace value and influence of their mother, The Duchess of Cambridge; Brand Finance calculated that her brand worth is £4.7 billion (a whopping US$6 billion).
