Queen Visits Mars Chocolate Factory

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were in Slough today for two official engagements. The Queen and The Duke visited the Mars chocolate factory, in Slough (which is only a few minutes’ drive from Windsor Castle, where they are staying for Easter court).

The Queen and the Duke were shown various stages in the chocolate making process. The Queen and the Duke did not sample the chocolate on offer, mainly because Mars don’t hold a Royal Warrant, so The Queen being seen eating them would be an unfair endorsement.

“We were absolutely delighted to host Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh at Mars Chocolate UK,” said Fiona Dawson of the Royal couple’s visit.

The Queen was said to be very intrigued by the chocolate making process.

Her Majesty re-wore an outfit she wore to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in March 2011 today.

Dawson added, “we have over 1,000 associates working on the site and everyone was thrilled to be part of the visit. It has been one of the most exciting days at Mars Chocolate UK since we first opened the factory in 1932.”
