Queen and Princess Anne to perform joint engagements

Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal are to perform a series of joint engagements in Cumbria on Wednesday, being one of the only times both Her Majesty and the Princess Royal have performed engagements together.

The Queen and her only daughter, Princess Anne, will perform joint engagements in Cumbria on Wednesday.

The Queen and her only daughter, Princess Anne, will perform joint engagements in Cumbria on Wednesday.

First, Princess Anne and The Queen will visit Kendal Town Centre in Cumbria, before visiting  James Cropper Speciality Papers Limited later and then The Queen and her only daughter will visit Lake Windermere.

Princess Anne was the most active member of the Royal Family last year. Although the press rarely give her the recognition she deserves, last year she performed the most engagements in the UK (485) followed by Prince Charles (480) and then The Queen (425).

It is believed that the engagement may have been planned originally to be done by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, though due to the Duke’s recovery, Princess Anne stepped in to accompany Her Majesty to this particular set of engagements.

The Earl of Wessex attended a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the beginning of the month with Her Majesty, whilst the Duke of Edinburgh remains at Windsor Castle recovering from exploratory surgery which took place last month. He is expected to return to public engagements sometime after the Royal Family’s annual summer break at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
