The Queen, who is 87 next month, was seen to be very relaxed in front of the cameras in the clips we’ve seen so far; in one clip asking if the lighting for the recording equipment was sufficient.
The documentary is set to show Her Majesty as the public do not normally see her. Relaxed; at work and with family. All different modes for the Queen, all together in one documentary.
ITV’s documentary about The Queen has a revelation or two about Her Majesty, including the cushion she has in her private sitting room at Balmoral embroidered with the words “It’s good to be Queen”.
The cameras were given rare access to two strictly confidential meetings between the Queen and Prime Minister David Cameron – one at Balmoral and another at Buckingham Palace. The meeting at Her Majesty’s Scottish home shows the cosy, informal setting of the living room at Balmoral. Mr Cameron chats to the Queen sitting on a chair decorated with the Scottish thistle in front of a humble electric heater. Despite the relaxing atmosphere, the collection of magazine and newspapers shows Her Majesty still stays up to date with current affairs.
The documentary ‘Our Queen’ will be broadcast on ITV at 8pm on Sunday 17th March on UK television.
