The second carriage carrying Prince William, the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is hosting a reception at the State Apartments of St James’s Palace to mark the 75th anniversary of the Kindertransport, a mission that rescued around 10,000 children from areas controlled by Nazi Germany. The children were mostly Jewish and given foster homes in the United Kingdom for the duration of World War II.

The Eastern European tour of The Earl and Countess of Wessex continues. Their Royal Highnesses arrive in Romania for the first time today and will carry out engagements until Wednesday. Their visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the British Council in Romania, which the Earl and Countess will celebrate.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal is visiting Oban in Argyllshire. As Patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board, The Princess will visit a lighthouse tender, NLV Pharos. The Northern Lighthouse Board is responsible for lighthouses and marine navigation aids around Scotland and Northern Ireland. NLV Pharos services automatic lighthouses, beacons, buoys and carries out hydrographic surveying.

Today is the opening day of Wimbledon. His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent is President of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and will open the 2013 Lawn Tennis Championships.

Her Majesty The Queen is hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the inaugural Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering, which will be awarded annually to innovative engineers for ground-breaking projects that benefit global humanity. Their Royal Highnesses The Duke of Gloucester and Duke of Kent will accompany Her Majesty. The Duke of Kent is a Royal Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.

The Princess Royal’s duties as Patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board continue today and tomorrow with visits to lighthouses off the west coast of Scotland.

Today Her Majesty The Queen is inspecting The Queen’s Company of the Grenadier Guards in the gardens of Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty is also presenting new colours to the Nijmegen Company. Afterwards, The Queen is also holding a Garden Party for the Grenadier Guards Association.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex arrive in Slovenia today, where Their Royal Highnesses are carrying out engagements until Friday. British Ambassador Andrew Page invited the couple to promote the relationship between the UK and Slovenia and British business. Prince Edward is also presenting gold Duke of Edinburgh awards to Slovenian participants of the scheme.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester is attending a dinner for supporters of The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme at Mosimann’s, London. The Duke of Gloucester’s Young Achievers Scheme is run by the Duke’s charity, The Construction Youth Trust. It rewards the achievements of young construction professionals and aims to help the careers of people from all backgrounds.

Today The Duke of Kent and The Duchess of Gloucester are both visiting Wimbledon. Her Royal Highness, as Honorary President, is hosting the Lawn Tennis Association’s President’s Lunch at the Club.

The Princess Royal is carrying out engagements in Oban, Argyllshire today. Her Royal Highness is attending a Volunteering Organisations and Senior Citizens Day at Argyllshire Gathering Halls; visiting the History of Dunollie Exhibition at Dunollie House; and attending a Management Board Meeting onboard NLV Pharos as Patron of the Northern Lighthouse Board. The Princess Royal is also visiting York where she is seeing an ‘Engineering: Design for Life’ exhibition at The University of York as a Royal Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering.

The Duke of Kent is attending a Fundraising Gala for the London Philharmonic Orchestra today at Guildhall, Gresham Street. The Duke is Patron of the Orchestra, founded in 1932 as the first permanent, salaried orchestra in London.

Her Majesty The Queen is visiting the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland at Howe Barracks in Canterbury, Kent, today. The Queen is Royal Colonel of the Regiment.

The Princess Royal is visiting Worcestershire and Shropshire today. Her Royal Highness is launching the Oakland Foundation and attending a Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Symposium at food distribution specialist Oakland International in Redditch. In Shropshire The Princess is attending an offender mental health conference at Telford. The conference was arranged by her charity, Youth Support Services.

The Duchess of Gloucester is in London today. Her Royal Highness is President of the Royal Academy of Music and is attending the Graduation Ceremony at St. Marylebone Parish Church.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are visiting Nottingham today where they will attend the National Armed Forces Day in the City Centre. The event includes a parade of military personnel and veterans and a fly past of various RAF aircraft.

The Duchess of Gloucester is also attending the Lawn Tennis Association’s Wimbledon Ball today at Battersea Power Station’s Boiler House. Her Royal Highness is Honorary President of the Lawn Tennis Association.
