HRH Princess Alexandra

HRH Princess Alexandra returns to public life this week.

Monday 16th September

His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex visits the Bailiwick of Jersey today.  The Earl’s itinerary includes the Eric Young Orchid Foundation and gardens at Domaine des Vaux and Trinity Manor as Master of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners. In the evening His Royal Highness attends a dinner at the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club.

Tuesday 17th September

Today His Royal Highness Prince Harry is in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The Prince is participating in a 24-hour cold chamber training exercise with the British Team for the Walking With The Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge.

Prince Edward’s engagements in Jersey continue for a second day. As Master of The Worshipful Company of Gardeners, His Royal Highness visits Lande a Geon and Les Creux Allotments. The Earl is also presenting Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards and attending a ceremony commemorating the proclamation of King Charles II in 1649 and the gift of the Mace in 1663. The ceremony is being held in the Royal Square of Jersey’s capital, St. Helier.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visits Renfrewshire today. The Princess is opening a bottling hall for Chivas Brothers Limited in Paisley, a factory extension for Peak Scientific Instruments Limited at Inchinnan and visits Castle Semple Centre in Lochwinnoch.

Wednesday 18th September

The Princess Royal is presenting a new standard to 101 Squadron at a ceremony at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire today. Her Royal Highness is Honorary Air Commodore.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attend the United Kingdom Awards for Organ Donation at St James’s Palace today. The awards recognise the gift of donors and their families to help others.

Thursday 19th September

The Earl of Wessex is hosting a dinner at Windsor Castle this evening for the International Golf for Youth, who operate The Duke of Edinburgh Cup Tournament. The Tournament is held annually at Windsor Castle to raise funds for young people at risk, in special need, or who need medical or social help.

The Princess Royal visits Devon today for The Royal Corps of Signals’ Exercise Horseshow at Okehampton Camp. Her Royal Highness is Colonel in Chief of the Royal Corps of Signals. As President of The Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, Her Royal Highness is also attending the President’s Lecture and Dinner in London.

Friday 20th September

Today The Duke of Gloucester, Patron of The Woodstock Literary Festival, attends the Festival Dinner at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Blenheim Palace is the home of Their Graces The Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The Palace was a gift from Queen Anne to John Churchill, the first Duke of Marlborough.

Saturday 21st September

Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra is in Herefordshire as Patron of the Pennington‑Mellor‑Munthe Charity Trust. Her Royal Highness is opening restored Georgian stables and attending a charity concert at Hellens Much Marcle, near Ledbury. This is Princess Alexandra’s first engagement this year. In June Buckingham Palace announced that The Princess, a cousin of Her Majesty The Queen, was suffering from polymyalgia rheumatica and was stepping down from public duties for ‘an indefinite period of time’.
