Ratings success for ITV’s This Morning as millions tune in to watch Eugenie & Jack’s wedding

ITV saw its viewing figures almost triple on Friday morning as millions of people tuned in to watch the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.

This Morning At The Royal Wedding, hosted by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, saw an average of 3 million people tune in, with a peak audience of 3.9 million.

The wedding was broadcast on ITV from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm, and achieved a 46% audience share.

These ratings are up by more than two million viewers compared to the time slot’s current average of 856,000.

ITV also aired a highlights programme at 8pm. This was watched by an average audience of 3.4 million.

Overnight figures for ITV include those watching live and also on ITV+1. The figures do not take into consideration those watching on catch-up TV, or indeed those watching outside of the country.

These viewing figures are significantly down on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding which saw a peak audience of 18 million. However, Harry & Meghan’s wedding was broadcast on the BBC & ITV, and the occasion took place on a Saturday.
