With just weeks before its worldwide release, the first full-length trailer for ‘Diana’ has been unveiled.
The two-minute promo shows Naomi Watts as the late Diana, Princess of Wales, in the final two years before her tragic death.
The upcoming biopic by Oliver Hirschbiegel will focus on Diana’s final two years and her romance with heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, played by former Lost star Naveen Andrews.
During the two-minute clip, Naomi as Diana is seen in some of the Princess’ most iconic moments such as her visit to the Cannes film festival, and the historic moments of the Princess walking across the landmines. “I want to help people,” Diana says in the film.
The trailer also gives a glimpse of her relationship with the surgeon and shows Diana’s humourous side, when the couple first meet.
“I dont know how to reach you,” Naveen Andrews says as Dr. Khan.
“I’m like most people, I have a mobile,” Diana quickly responds. “Actually, I’m not like most people, I have four.”
Earlier this week, Naomi revealed she believed her and the late Princess could have been friends.
“I think she was someone I’d like to have been friends with,” the Australian actress told Total Film magazine. “I was obviously struck with shock and grief by her death.”
The 44-year-old explained she had been able to learn things she did not previously know about the late Princess.
“I liked the things I learned about her that I didn’t know. She had a rebellious side and a great sense of humour.”
