Princess Beatrice and Zara Phillips wanted for Strictly Come Dancing

Tess Daly has revealed she would love Princess Beatrice on Strictly.

Tess Daly has revealed she would love a member of the British Royal Family to appear as a contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.

“A royal would be great,” the show’s co-host revealed to Entertainmentwise. “Zara Phillips or Princess Beatrice. They’re big fans.”

Since the show’s beginning, members of the Royal Family have revealed they are viewers of the show. The Duchess of Cornwall is known to be a huge fan of the dancing show, and last year visited the show’s set, having her photo taken with the dancers and celebrities.
Last week, Camilla attended the launch of Strictly Confidential in Oxford. The wife of Prince Charles joined Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood for a special gala performance of his new dance show which features former contestant Lisa Riley.
“I am absolutely delighted that Her Royal Higness joined us this evening as my very special guest,” Craig revealed after the launch. “She absolutely loved the show”.
“I know how much she enjoys Strictly Come Dancing,” the dancing judge revealed.
There has also been speculation the BBC have considered the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton.
“It is universally viewers as tasteful so there is very little stopping Pippa,” a source revealed.
“Bosses will be very keen to get her, but they approach a lot of people every year,” they added.

If Ms. Middleton redrew from a charity tennis match on advice from family and Royal Advisors I hardly think that either she or Ms. Phillips will be “Going Dancing” no matter how much they might enjoy the show. It sounds like an attempt to generate publicity for their show, and nothing else. I think the Royal family learned a valuable lesson from “It’s a Royal Knockabout” and I hope minor Royals or those with only connections through family members such as Ms. Middleton will steer well clear of reality TV in the interest of maintaining some degree of decorum.
