Whether you are a skilled salesperson or a talented leader, computer savvy or arts fan, there is a now great chance for you to work at any of the Queen’s residences this summer.
Up to 24 different job postings have been recently announced by the Royal Household, with a wide variety of options covering a range of nine categories and spread across four of Her Majesty’s official residences: Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Some of these jobs have been announced for the first time in a long while. These include an IT Training Officer, Procurement Lead, Assistant to the Surveyor of The Queen’s Pictures, and Operations Engineer. Although the majority of the announcements offer permanent vacancies, some of the positions are offered with temporary contracts only.
Starting from June, the Royal Household advertised eight summer jobs with a contract ending in September or October. This includes Ticket Sales Assistant at Windsor Palace and Visitor Services Assistant at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The roles come with different responsibilities and working hours. Packages vary and some jobs pay handsomely. The successful candidate for Learning and Development Manager, for instance, will earn up to £40,000 –plus benefits- a year. The description of the job, based in Buckingham Palace, says that the main task for the manager is to ‘’identify development strategies in support of business priorities.’’
According to the Royal Household, the Queen is an employer to over 1,200 people who work across 400 different job roles as part of 67 teams. The majority of the jobs are located in London, Windsor and Edinburgh.
