In a survey conducted by the Daily Telegraph, William was crowned the most popular name among boys in 2013. Despite all of the attention he has received since his birth in July, George was voted the 2nd most popular name. The Prince of Wales must also feel reassured as the name Charles was voted the 3rd most popular. In 4th place was Henry, therefore making the most popular 4 names very royal.
Despite the Duchess of Cambridge’s ever increasing popularity, the names ‘Catherine’ or ‘Kate’ were not featured on the list at all.The most popular girls name was tied between Charlotte and Isabella.
It seems to become a trend that when a famous baby is born, his or her name sparks in popularity. For example, David Cameron had a baby girl in 2010 called Florence; in 2012 this was the most popular girls name.
