The Palace Review: Week of 8th September

Monday, 8th September

The Duke of York will host a meeting with members of The Royal Warrant Holders Association to discuss Apprenticeships at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex will unveil a World War 1 Memorial to The Founding Fathers of the Royal British Legion at Birkehead. Also on Monday, Prince Edward Commodore in Chief, will visit Royal Fleet Auxiliary Orange Leaf and Fort Victoria at Cammell Laird Shipyard in Birkehead. Edward also has on his calendar the opening of Enterprise South Liverpool Academy in Liverpool.

The Princess Royal, Patron, The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, will attend the 75th Anniversary Reception and Awards Dinner at the University of Warwick in Coventry.

Tuesday, 9th September

The Princess Royal will undertake numerous engagements in Edinburgh on Tuesday. The Princess, Honorary Member, The Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh, will open the Frail and Elderly Flats, attend a luncheon at The Merchants’ Hall and open the new L’Arche House for whom she is Patron of the L’Arche Edinburgh ‘Coming of Age’ Appeal.

Continuing her busy day, Anne, Royal Patron, WISE, will visit women involved in The Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Project and as Chancellor, University of Edinburgh, will hold a Dinner at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Duke of Gloucester will visit Penicuik House and Dryden Aqua Ltd in Midlothian. The Duke will also open the John Gray Centre Building in East Lothian.

Wednesday, 10th September

The Duke of York will attend The Outward Bound Trust Board Meeting at the Ullswater Centre, in Cumbria. The Duke will also visit HMS Gannet in South Ayrshire.

The Countess of Wessex will open the Sanctuary at Thames Hospice in Windsor. The Countess as Global Ambassador, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, will attend a dinner and an Islamic Fashion Festival Show at Windsor Castle.

The Princess Royal has events scheduled in Lancashire on Wednesday. As President of Carers Trust, The Princess will open the Redrow Builders Show Home and visit David Moss Boatbuilders. Anne who is President of Save the Children UK will attend a 50th Anniversary North West Celebration at Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant whilst in Lancashire.

The Duchess of Gloucester will visit Ford Park Community Group in Cumbria. Also scheduled during the Cumbria visit is the official opening of the new annex at St. Mary’s Hospice, celebrate their Twenty Fifth Anniversary and a visit to Oak Swill Basket Maker.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, New Bridge Foundation, will visit and officially open their new offices in London.

Thursday, 11th September

The Princess Royal, Colonel in Chief, The Royal Corps of Signals, will attend the Freedom of Richmond Parade in North Yorkshire.

Also scheduled on Thursday, Anne as Patron of the British Equine Veterinary Association will attend the 2014 Congress at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Elizabeth Finn Care, will visit Rashwood, Wychbold, Droitwich, Worcestershire. The Duchess will also open the New Haven Older Adults Mental Health Unit in Bromsgrove.

Princess Alexandra, Patron, BEN Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund, will visit Alexandra House in Merseyside. Whilst in Merseyside, she will open the restored King’s Gardens.

Friday, 12th September

The Earl and Countess of Wessex will carry out engagements in Canada until 20th September.

The Princess Royal, President, World Horse Welfare, will attend the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

Saturday, 13th September

The Duke of Gloucester, Grand Prior, the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, will attend a Re-dedication Service at Wells Cathedral in Somerset.
