Isla and Savannah Phillips make their Buckingham Palace balcony debut

Isla and Savannah Phillips have made their debut appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to mark The Queen’s official 91st birthday.

Isla and Savannah, who are 14th and 15th in line to the throne, were stood next to Prince George and Princess Charlotte as they watched the RAF flypast in the London sky.

The four young royals were using a book to identify the different types of planes as they flew overhead.

Peter and Autumn Phillips were also on the balcony, but there was no sign of the Tindall family.

Also on the balcony were The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke of York and Princesses Beatrice & Eugenie, The Wessex family, The Princess Royal and Prince Harry.

They were also joined by less senior royals including Prince & Princess Michael of Kent, the Duke of Kent, and the Gloucesters.

Peter and Autumn Philips were also there alongside their daughters, Isla and Savannah who make their debut appearance on the balcony.

Earlier in the morning, The Queen led the Royal Family as they attended the traditional Trooping the Colour on Horse Guards Parade, where over 1,000 members of the Household Division presented their own age-old tribute to Her Majesty on her official birthday.

Before the Royals set off for Horse Guards, The Queen led a minute’s silence from Buckingham Palace in memory of those who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower fire.

She also released an unprecedented statement referring to the events of Grenfell a few hours before the events of the day got underway.

The Duke of Edinburgh for the first time attended the ceremony in a suit rather than his military uniform. This is likely due to the hot weather and his age. Similarly, the Duke of Kent also attended the parade without his military uniform for the first time.

In a couple of months, the 96-year-old Prince will retire from public duties. It is possible that Trooping the Colour will be one occasion he still decides to attend each year to support his wife of 70 years.
