Dispatches from Clarence House: Week of 8th September

Monday 8th September

Prince Harry will meet the Team Captains of all the Invictus Games participating nations. Harry will also attend Invictus Games training sessions and Athletics field events heats at Barking Sporthouse and Gym.

Tuesday 9th September 2014

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Trust, will visit an upholstery up-cycler and meet other design entrepreneurs who have been supported by the charity, together with Prince’s Trust Ambassador, Kelly Hoppen, in South Bermondsey.

Prince Harry will attend the Jaguar Land Rover Driving Challenge at Gaydon in Warwickshire.

Wednesday 10th September

The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Thursday 11th September

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will attend a Drumhead Service at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

The Prince of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will attend the Invictus Games Athletics Competition at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

Friday 12th September 2014

The Prince of Wales, Earl of Chester and President, The Prince’s Trust, and The Duchess of Cornwall, Countess of Chester, will meet pupils at Lache Primary School, and will be introduced to young people, mothers and babies, and other centre users at the Lache Integrated Early Support Centre, Chester.

Charles, who is Patron, Friends of Chester Cathedral, and his wife, will tour Cathedral, meeting members of the choir, watching an extract from a Mystery Play in the Chapter House and visiting the Cloisters, Chester Cathedral. The Royal couple will also officially open the new ‘Cathedral at Height’ tower tour.

Charles will then visit Airbus, Broughton, to mark the firm’s 75th anniversary, and will meet employees and tour the North Factory before officially opening the new Visitors Centre.
Camilla will go on to meet staff and patients and officially open the Haygarth Building, Countess of Chester Hospital, Countess of Chester Health Park. She will also present the Haygarth medal, which recognises the nurse who has made the most outstanding contribution to the hospital.

Also scheduled for Camilla on Friday is the official opening of the new Countess of Chester Country Park, created by the Land Trust. There she will meet local community groups who will use the site.

Prince Harry will attend all Invictus Games sports events at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Lee Valley VeloPark.

Prince Harry will play in an exhibition wheelchair rugby match along with Zara and Mike Tindall at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Saturday 13th September

Prince Harry will attend all Invictus Games sports events at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Lee Valley VeloPark.

Sunday 14th September

Prince Harry will attend the Invictus Games Closing Ceremony.
