His Royal Highness The Gyalsey features on Yellow Bhutan’s August calendar

A black and white photo of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey is featured on the August issue of the desktop calendar issued by Yellow Bhutan.

With the calendar’s release a couple of days ago, Yellow Bhutan stated, “For the monthly calendar for August, we are delighted to share this wonderful photograph of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey.”

Regarding the issue of their monthly calendars, they also stated, “It has been our pleasure to release these free, downloadable monthly calendars, with Gregorian calendar dates, Bhutanese Lunar calendar dates, and public holidays in Bhutan, for your laptop, computer, smartphone, or notepad wallpapers. Thank you for your overwhelming response.”

The free calendars from Yellow Bhutan include both the Gregorian calendar dates and Bhutanese Lunar calendar dates. Downloads are available for mobile phones, Macs and PCs. The calendar for this month can be downloaded from their website here.

The two-year-old royal has been featured numerous times in the calendars, including February, June, September and November 2017.

Both Their Majesties King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema shared the Yellow Bhutan post on their official Facebook pages, as well. Both utilise their social media accounts to keep the public informed about their royal engagements. You can follow the King, here and the Queen, here.

King Jigme and Queen Jetsun Pema were married in October 2011, and the birth of their first child was honoured by the planting of 108,000 trees in Bhutan by thousands of volunteers. Known simply as The Gyalsey (‘the prince’) for the first few months of his life, the new-born Prince Jigme’s name was not announced to the world until 16 April 2016.

The Gyalsey or Crown Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck is the only child of the King and Queen of Bhutan. He was born on 5 February 2016 in Lingkana Palace in Thimphu, Bhutan.
