There will be a new royal wedding in the United Arab Emirates. Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced her engagement.
It was announced at the end of November that the daughter of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum had announced her engagement. The soon-to-be father of the bride is the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Dubai.
The Khaleej Times reported that she became engaged on 29th of November to Sheikh Faisal Saud Khalid Al Qasimi.
Her Highness Sheikha Latifa is one of the twelve children between His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his senior wife, Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum. His junior wife is Her Royal Highness Princess Haya of Jordan, with whom he has a son and daughter.
Her betrothed, Sheikh Faisal, is the nephew of the Minister of State for Tolerance, Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi. He is a member of the royal family of Ras Al Khaimah, which reigns over Ras al-Khaimah. Ras al-Khaimah is one of seven emirates that make up the UAE.
The bride-to-be, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed, took to Instagram to announce the good news, and immediate congratulations poured in. Along with sharing the good news, Sheikha Latifa shared a photo of her fiancé with her father, captioning the image, “My family.” Her Highness is the Vice-Chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
Sheikha Latifa’s sister, Sheikha Maryam, sent her sister her best wishes on her official Instagram, saying, “Best wishes on this journey, as you build your new lives together. May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy, and that today is the beginning of a long, happy life together.”
Her Highness’s other sister, Sheikha Manal, also sent her congratulations through Instagram saying, “Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together and a love that grows stronger with each passing day. MABROOK. Love you.”
At the moment, no date for the nuptials has been released.
