Princess Madeleine visits Swedish Embassy in London

Princess Madeleine has stepped out to visit the Swedish Embassy in London. The Princess, her husband and their children, have been living in London for two years now.

Today Princess Madeleine of Sweden visited the Swedish Embassy in London. Upon arrival, the Princess was shown around the premises of the embassy. Then she received a short briefing about the activities of the institution. Princess Madeleine also spoke with the Embassy’s management team: Magnus Stuxberg, Sophie Tzelidis, Ellen Wettmark, Markus Tegnhammar and Johan Berglund. At the end of her visit, the Princess took part in a meeting with the Ambassador and a few Swedish organisations in the UK such as the Swedish Church, Visit Sweden, Swedish School, the Chamber of Commerce, etc.

The Swedish Ambassador to the UK, Torbjörn Sohlström was very happy that Princess Madeleine took the time to learn more about the embassy. He tweeted: “Honoured to have HRH Princess Madeleine at Swedish Embassy today, for discussion on Embassy and @TeamSwedenSE work in the UK.”

It is not the first time that the youngest daughter of King Carl XVI Gustaf has undertaken official engagements in London. In February of this year, Madeleine inaugurated the “Room for Children” at the Southbank Centre in London. During her visit to the Swedish Embassy today, she was thanked by the cultural attaché Ellen Wettmark for her participation at the inauguration of the Room for Children at the Southbank Centre. Princess Madeleine also received a book during her visit.

Princess Madeleine showed off her growing baby bump in an elegant black dress. The Princess was forced to announce her third pregnancy early in August. The baby is expected to be born in March 2018.

The Swedish newspaper Expressen revealed earlier today that King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia would be visiting their daughter Princess Madeleine, her husband Chris O’Neill and their two children in London this week. Both the King and Queen have cleared their agendas to be able to spend more time with their youngest child. Princess Madeleine will return to Sweden for the christening of her nephew, Prince Gabriel on 1 December.
