Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden start public Instagram account

Yesterday, Prince Carl Philip turned 39. In honour of this occasion, he and his wife, Princess Sofia decided to start a public Instagram account on which they’ll post pictures of their daily lives.

The Prince Couple started a private Instagram account in June 2017. Ever since, they have been posting pictures about their private lives such as behind the scene photos of the Nobel Prize, family trips, adorable snaps of their children, about Princess Sofia’s work for her charity Project Playground, etc.

It was only today that the Royal Court announced on Facebook that Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia had decided to start a public Instagram account so that the people will be able to follow the couple. In less than a day the Prinsparet’s Instagram account has gathered over 65,000 followers from all over the world.

The couple posted a selfie today and stated: “Welcome to our official Instagram account. As you can see we have already been posting photos for a while to give you an insight into our work, the tasks we carry out and above all the issues, we are passionate about. We hope you want to follow us!”

The Prince Couple has also shared some adorable snaps of their family of four throughout the year. Here are the cutest pictures:

On Valentine’s day they shared another private family moment:

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are not the only members of the Swedish Royal Family to have their own Instagram account. Princess Madeleine also created her own private Instagram in March of this year. She can be followed here. At that time, the Royal Court said that other accounts were in the works by members of the Royal Family; we now know that it was the Prince Couple’s account. The Swedish Royal Court also has an Instagram account which can be followed here.

Maybe Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will decide to start their own account in the future?

Because it was Mother’s Day in the USA, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and several other countries yesterday, here is another cute picture of Princess Sofia with Prince Gabriel:
