New photos released ahead of Crown Princess Victoria’s 40th birthday

Several new photos of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria have been released by the Royal Court of Sweden ahead of the Crown Princess’s 40th birthday on 14 July.

The five images, taken by Erika Gerdemark, were shot in the dining room and living room of Haga Palace, as well as outside. She lives in Haga with her husband, Prince Daniel and two children, five-year-old Princess Estelle and one-year-old Prince Oscar.

Swedish photographer Erika Gerdemark has taken several pictures for the Swedish Royal Family including the images released after Prince Alexander’s birth last year.

The Swedish Royal Court also took the occasion to launch the site for the events that will be held during the two-day celebrations on the 14 and 15 of July. The new website can be found here.

At 10 am on 14 July, a Te Deum Thanksgiving service will be held in her honour in the Royal Chapel of the Royal Palace of Stockholm. The Swedish Armed Forces will give a salute at noon, and the Crown Princess Family will ride in a horse-drawn carriage from Logårdstrappan at Skeppsbron to Hovstallet. Later on the island of Öland, the traditional concert and awarding of the Victoria Scholarship on Victoriadagen will take place.

On 15 July, the gates to Solliden Palace will be opened for the people to come and wish the Crown Princess well for her 40th birthday. The Crown Princess and her family will greet the crowds at 11 am.

The Royal Court added that for the celebrations the hashtag #Kronprinsessan40 could be used on Twitter and Instagram.

Those who wish to send a gift to the Crown Princess for her 40th birthday are asked to donate to the Swedish Crown Princess Couple’s Foundation and to include “Crown Princess 40 years” in the donation, so the organisation knows that it is in celebration of her birthday. Information on how to donate can be found here.
