The Swedish Royal Court has published the congratulatory messages the Swedish Royal Family and the O’Neill family have given to Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill in honour of the arrival of their baby girl.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, the grandparents, stated:

“We feel great joy for Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill as they have had their third child, and gratitude for everything has gone well for both mother and child. We now look forward to getting to know our new family member!”

Princess Madeleine’s elder sister Crown Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel said:

“We are so happy for our family’s sake and we warmly welcome the new family member.”

Princess Madeleine’s elder brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia were also thrilled to welcome a new family member:

“We rejoice with Madeleine and Christopher, and with Leonore and Nicolas who finally get to meet their anticipated little sister. We look forward to seeing her!”

Christopher O’Neill’s family, his mother Eva-Maria O’Neill and his sisters Tatjana d’Abo and Countess Natasha von Abensperg and their families, said in the official statement:

“We welcome the news of Madeleine and Christopher’s little girl, Leonore, and Nicolas’s little sister. We send them our best wishes and look forward to meeting her.”

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia are expected to visit their new grandchild later today. They had to come back from their ski holiday early. Other family members such as Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Carl Philip are also expected to see their new niece later today or this weekend. It is also expected that Christopher O’Neill’s family, who lives in London, will make the trip to Stockholm to see their new family member.

This morning the Swedish Royal Court announced Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill had become the proud parents of a baby girl. The little girl was born at the Danderyds Hospital in Stockholm. The new Swedish Princess weighs 3465 grams and measures 50cm in height.
