Princess Charlene attends annual gala of Princess Grace Foundation USA

Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the annual gala of the Princess Grace Foundation USA at the Cipriani Hall in New York. Princess Charlene looked chic in a black suit with a classic white tuxedo shirt which she had undone at the neck. She added black heels, red nail varnish, a drop diamond necklace and diamond earrings to the classy look.

Princess Charlene presented the Prince Rainier III Award to American actor Tim Daly. He was rewarded not only because of his successful acting and producing career but also for his involvement through the Creative Coalition which focusses on healths, education and the arts. The statuette Prince Rainier III was made by the sculptor Kees Verkade.  The two Princess Grace statuettes were presented to choreographer Kyle Abraham and to theatre actor Sam Gold.

The Princess was reportedly also surprised by actor Gerard Butler who was a guest in her 2011 wedding to Prince Albert II.

The host for the evening was America actress Bebe Neuwirth and there were nearly 400 guests. Since its creation in 1982, the Princess Grace Foundation USA has been working to help and support young talents in the world of theatre, dance and film.

Princess Charlene is married to the reigning Prince of Monaco, Albert II. Charlene first met Prince Albert II of Monaco in 2000 when the Prince watched the young athlete engaged in swimming competition alongside the South African team. They have been married since 2011 and have three-year-old twins together, Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco and Princess Gabriella, Countess of Carladès. Though the Princess was born first, it is her brother who will one day inherit the principality as the House of Grimaldi is patrilineal, with priority to the throne being given to male heirs.
