State visit from Iceland to Norway – Day 1 – Part 2

The President of Iceland, his wife and the Norwegian regent couple met again this afternoon. At this point, they participated in a meeting at NORLA, a centre that works to promote Norwegian literature abroad. The Kingdom of Norway is the honorary guest at the large Frankfurt Book Fair in 2019, and the King, Queen and presidential couple, therefore, were able to learn more about the work that NORLA does ahead of the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2019.

After this event, they all went on to the Great Hall of the University of Oslo, which is centrally located in downtown Oslo and beautifully decorated with large pictures painted by the world famous artist Edward Munch. President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson was invited to give a lecture in connection with a seminar on cooperation between the Nordic nations.
