Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway is changing schools this fall, according to a press release Monday from the Royal Court in Oslo.
The Royal Court informed the press that the Princess and future queen would start the 10th grade at Uranienborg School in Oslo in August. From 2014 to 2019, the Princess has been enrolled at Oslo International School at Bekkestua. Earlier, from 2010 to 2014, she attended Jansløkka School in Asker.
In the same press release, the Royal Court also revealed that Her Royal Highness would start high school in 2020, but it is not clear yet which school she will attend. Oslo International School differs from public schools in some areas. This includes using an international teacher’s plan, and they have a secondary school from the 7th to the 10th grades and not 8th through 10th years as in the Norwegian public schools.

“It is normal for us that students move on. Apart from that, we have no comment about her in particular,” says Knut Sørlie at Oslo International School at Bekkestua to the newspaper “Budstikka”.
Norwegian TV NRK has been in contact with the Royal Court. They asked why Uranienborg School was selected: “The choice fell on Uranienborg School based on an overall assessment. The Crown Prince Family wanted a place at an Oslo school. Uranienborg School is located close to the Palace, and the school had vacant space,” explained the Royal Court. Uranienborg school is located in west Oslo, around 530 metres from the Royal Palace.

“It was natural to stop at Oslo International School now because the Princess has finished the classes she started on. The Princess still has one year left in the Norwegian secondary school and wants to go the last year at Uranienborg School,” says Assistant Communications Manager Sven Gjeruldsen to NRK.
Prince Sverre Magnus continues at the Montessori school in Oslo. He also went to Jansløkka before moving over to his new school in 2014.
