Six new photographs were released by the Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg with the announcement of the name of Prince Félix and Princess Claire’s 9-day-old son.
All of the images were taken by Prince Liam’s proud grandmother, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
Their Royal Highnesses Prince Félix and Princess Claire have named their son Liam Henri Hartmut.
The Grand Ducal Court said in a press release yesterday morning, “The Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess are pleased to announce, together with Prince Félix and Princess Claire, that the name of their grandson is His Royal Highness Prince Liam Henri Hartmut of Nassau.”
His middle names honour his grandfathers. Henri honours his paternal grandfather, Grand Duke Henri, and Hartmut honours his maternal grandfather, Hartmut Lademacher.
Three of the photos feature the new family of four, while the other three are of Prince Liam being held by his sister, Amalia. In one adorable picture, Amalia is seen gently hugging her 9-day-old little brother, and in another, the happy big sister is seen stroking his cheek.
The newly named little prince was born on 28 November at 3:59 am at the Beaulieu Clinic in Geneva, Switzerland. He is fourth in the line of succession to the throne behind his uncle, father, and older sister due to the introduction of absolute primogeniture in 2011, by decree of Grand Duke Henri.
He is the second child for Prince Félix and Princess Claire. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Princess Amalia, who was born on 15 June 2014 at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxembourg.
Prince Liam is the third grandson of The Grand Duke and Duchess; they have two older grandsons, 10-year-old Prince Gabriel and 9-year-old Prince Noah, through their son Prince Louis and his wife, Princess Tessy.
