Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece is sharing Christmas photos on her personal Instagram, and the Crown Princely Family is prepping for the holidays in New York City.
Billed Bladet, a Danish tabloid, reports that Crown Princess Marie-Chantal is taking the lead on decorating her new apartment for Christmas because, in the past, they’ve spent Christmas with her in-laws, the King and Queen of Greece.
This Christmas, Billed Bladet reports, the Crown Princess’s parents will join the family. In the past, when not spending it with the Greek Royal Family, the Crown Prince Family would spend Christmas at the Miller mansion in the Bahamas.
Crown Princess Marie-Chantal posted the photo of her Christmas tree, with several wrapped presents already underneath it, on Instagram with the caption, “Our tree is up” with several tree and gift emojis.
The family recently moved to New York City this year, after living in London, in the Chelsea neighbourhood, close to King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie.
Crown Princess Marie-Chantal told The Times that the move was also familial in nature.
“My daughter Olympia is at university here and Tino, my number two, is going to Georgetown University [in Washington], and we felt – we’re a family, we move like a caravan – so we thought it would be fun to make the move.”
Her fashion empire – Marie-Chantal – was also a motivating factor, she said. She was hoping to expand her clothing line on this side of the Atlantic.
Their New York City apartment is reportedly located on Madison Avenue. They had previously lived in New York, closer to Central Park that time, though.
The Crown Princely Family celebrated Greek Christmas Eve with the former King and Queen last year.
Crown Princess Marie-Chantal also shared a picture of garland wrapped around the bannister of a staircase in her apartment a week ago with the caption, “It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.”
She has 126,000 Instagram followers.
