Prince Charles says ‘We’re waiting’ for Royal Baby as he continues visit to York

Prince Charles may be about the become a grandfather for a first time, but it was business as usual for the Royal this morning as he visited York.

The Prince of Wales in is Yorkshire for a two-day visit and was visiting the National Railway Museum when he was asked about the Royal baby.

Prince Charles said he had not heard anything yet.

“Absolutely nothing. We’re waiting,” the Prince revealed.

Prince Charles, who will be joined by the Duchess of Cornwall on his two-day visit, intends to continue with his planned visit to the region, according to Royal reporter Richard Palmer.

Earlier this morning, the Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to hospital at around 5.30am after being driven to the Lindo Wing from Kensington Palace.

The official press release said, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour.”

“The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

It was later revealed Kate’s labour was “progressing as normal,” by a royal aide.

William and Kate are believed to have arrived after 5.30am after making the short drive from Kensington Palace where they have been staying in the last few days.

The royal couple’s private secretaries Miguel Head and Rebecca Deacon are also inside the Lindo Wing building.

When the baby arrrives, it is expected Prince William will phone his grandmother The Queen to inform her of the arrival, then later the world will be informed of the new heir to the thone.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister David Cameron has described the Duchess’ labour as a “very special” occasion.
