On Wednesday 25th June, The Duchess of Cornwall will attend the Wimbledon Championships.
Upon the Duchess of Cornwall’s arrival at Wimbledon, she will meet some Armed Forces personnel who are acting as stewards for the games, before moving on to meet ball boys and girls on the Players Lawn.
During the visit to Wimbledon, Her Royal Highness will possibly meet with some former/current tennis players. She will then attend a private lunch in the Member’s dining room before joining guests in the Royal Box to watch the tennis.
The Duchess of Cornwall visited Wimbledon last year on the 27th June, where she met tennis ‘royalty’ including John McEnroe, Tim Henman and Virginia Wade. Guests who joined the Duchess in the Royal box last year included Chairman of the All England Club Phillip Brook and Labour Party deputy leader, Harriett Harman.
In 2012, the Diamond Jubilee year, both the Duchess of Cornwall and The Prince of Wales were at Wimbledon, the first time Prince Charles had attended since 1970. Her Majesty The Queen last went to the games in 2010.
Wimbledon 2014 begins on Monday 23rd June and concludes on Sunday 6th July.
