The Duke of Cambridge took unpaid leave from his job as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance ahead of the birth of Princess Charlotte

William took unpaid leave from the role as he prepared to become a father for the second time. Since the birth of Princess Charlotte, on May 2nd, Prince William has been at home with his wife and family as well as carrying out a range of royal engagements.

His last official duty before heading back to work was on Saturday when, as President of the Football Association, he attended the FA Cup Final at Wembley. It wasn’t the best day out for William as he ended up handing out runners-up medals to his team, Aston Villa after they lost 4-0 to Arsenal.

The Duke of Cambridge also spoke out about some of the controversy surrounding football at the moment. Speaking before the FA Cup Final, William urged supporters and sponsors of FIFA to work towards reform. He called for FIFA to ‘show that it can represent the interests of fair play and put the sport first’.

There was more sport for William on Sunday, just hours before he headed back to work. The Duke of Cambridge joined his brother, Prince Harry, to play polo in Ascot. William and Harry took part in the Audi Polo Challenge on Sunday and rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Samuel L Jackson, at the event.

As with everything in the past month, there was a mention for Princess Charlotte who isn’t anywhere near walking yet but now has her very own pair of pink wellies – they were presented to William by the Director of Audi UK.

The Cambridge’s now prepare for the change that returning to his job full time will bring to this brand new royal family of four.
