As July begins, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are just weeks, possibly days, from welcoming their first child into the world and preparations for the arrival are under way.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed Kate was expecting the baby in mid-July. “It’s around mid-July, but babies have their own agenda,” the Duchess told well-wishers. This has led many to believing the expectant royal will give birth around July 13, however there has been suggestion Kate may go into labour much earlier.
It has been suggested that Kate has followed in Diana, Princess of Wales’, footsteps, when she told the media she was expecting ten days later than the actual day William was born.
With the impending arrival of the new heir to the throne, preparations are under way at the hospital where Kate is planning to give birth. Prince William and Kate chose the Lindo Wing at St.Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, to welcome their first child and the couple will be following the lead set by Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, who welcomed Prince William and Prince Harry at the same hospital.

As Kate’s due month arrives, the hospital has started clearing space outside the building for when Kate arrives. A notice put up outside the building has suspended parking from July 1 to July 31.
Outside the hospital, the world’s media has already begun arriving with news stations from America to Australia stationed there.
After Kate gives birth, the couple are expected to appear on the steps of the hospital, like Charles and Diana did, with their first child allowing the world to catch a glimpse of the royal baby.
Last month, it was confirmed by Palace officials that William “fully intends to be present at the birth,” despite the possibility he may be on duty at the time. It is likely the father-to-be will fly to London from his Wales base by helicopter in the event of Kate giving birth while he is on base.
