On 21st May, The Duke of Cambridge will be at Windsor Castle attending a dinner and reception to mark the 25th anniversary of Tusk Trust.
The Duke is Patron of the African conservation charity.
The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge attend an event in 2011 where Land Rover Donated a 2012 Defender Vehicle to Tusk Trust.
At the beginning of dinner, which will take place in St George’s Hall, William we make a short speech.
The dinner is a chance to acknowledge and thank important UK and international donors and patrons of Tusk as the celebrate their 25th-anniversary year.
Around 300 guests will be attending the event. Upon arrival, William will be greeted by Tusk representatives, before being presented to guests during a pre-dinner reception. At the start of dinner in St George’s Hall, The Royal Patron will be asked to say a few words.
Prince William became Royal Patron of Tusk in December 2005. Tusk is a conservation charity, whose goal is to address the numerous challenges encountered by Africa’s wildlife and its people.
William is a keen supporter of the charity’s work both personally and publicly on numerous occasions. In 2010, William along with Prince Harry carried out a tour of Botswana. Three years later, he launched the Tusk Conservation Awards.
Tusk, a UK & US-based conservation charity, was founded in 1990 with the intention to ensure a peaceful co-existence with Africa’s wildlife and its people. Since then, Tusk has raised £25m for a variety of African conservation projects and has benefitted from the patronage of William since 2005.
This past November, The Duke of Cambridge attended the Tusk Trust Awards at Claridges Hotel in London.
There he presented The Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa and The Tusk Conservation Award for Conservation in Africa.
The Prince William Award is a lifetime achievement award, acknowledging the exceptional commitment and outstanding contribution to conservation in Africa.
The Tusk Award is granted to the individual deemed as a leading conservationist and in acknowledgement of their unique contribution to conservation and significant success in their chosen field.
