Prince William hires his former nanny Jessie Webb, to look after Prince George

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hoped to raise Prince George by themselves without any assistance however, they have reconsidered and have hired a second pair of hands to look after the seven week old baby.

71 year old Jessie Webb, who was Prince William’s own former nanny, will come out of retirement to work part time. William has remained friends with Miss Webb inviting her as a guest of honour at his wedding in 2011.

As early as June, palace sources said that the couple had no plans to hire anybody for extra care but sources say that the couple admit they need some help as the Duchess now returns to some royal duties.

On Thursday evening at a charity dinner for the Tusk Conservation Awards the couple asked guests to excuse them as it was the first time they left their son alone at home with Miss Webb. She was first hired as a nanny by the Prince and Princess of Wales to look after William and Harry when they were preparing to go to prep school.

Miss Webb was let go by the Princess of Wales after she reportedly became jealous of the nanny’s close relationships with William and Harry. However, Miss Webb remained close to William, who made her a guest of honour at his 21st birthday and his wedding.

The Duchess of Cambridge made her first official engagement at the charity dinner on Thursday and the Duke has now left the military to focus on royal duties and charity work.
