The Duke of Cambridge is today celebrating his 32nd birthday. Prince William was born on June 21st 1982 as the first born of the Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales.
Since his last birthday, a lot has happened for Prince William including the birth of his first child with the Duchess of Cambridge. Prince George was born on 22nd July 2013 and so he too has his birthday approaching.
One of the most successful Royal tours has happened in the past year also, the New Zealand and Australia tour that took place back in April saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince George, travel down under for nearly three weeks. Their tour included visits to Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Christchurch and in Australia they visited Sydney, Queensland and Brisbane. The tour concluded on the 25th April and saw the Royal couple attend an ANZAC Day March and Commemorative Service.
Another commemorative service that the Duke has attended in the past year was that of the D-Day 70th anniversary. As well as having a tea party with D Day veterans in Arromanches, Normandy the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also attended a commemoration event for the Gold Beach landings, which formed part of D Day.
June 2014 seems to have been a busy month for the Duke of Cambridge, along with the D-Day commemorations, he has also launched a new United for Wildlife campaign, took salute for the first time at Beating Retreat, attended Trooping the Colour which saw a entire Royal Family balcony appearance and also attend the service of the Order of the Garter.
The following year shows the Prince will continue to take up more Royal duties, though the move to full time will not be happening any time soon – officials say an announcement is soon to be made on the Duke’s next public service role.Next month the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend the Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire alongside Prince Harry. It also sees the Duke and Duchess attend the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th July, again accompanied by Prince Harry.
So those engagements come in the first month after Prince William’s birthday, as for the other 11 months, we can assume that they will not be quiet.
There is only one thing left to do and that is to wish His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge a very happy 32nd birthday.
