Prince William & Catherine to spend Christmas at Middletons’

It was announced today that The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge are to spend Christmas day at the Middletons’, rather than with the Royal Family at Sandringham House.

“Prince William and his pregnant wife will celebrate Christmas at Catherine’s family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire”, a Clarence House spokesman said.

It is the first time William has spent Christmas at the Middletons’, last year Catherine stayed at Sandringham with the Royal Family, and her sister Pippa came down for a visit.

The decision was actually made before Catherine’s pregnancy was announced, although it was probably confirmed for sure when the pregnancy was confirmed. They are said to have the Queen’s approval to stay with the Middletons this year for Christmas.

Christmas day in the Middleton house usually involves Kate’s dad, Michael, dressing up in fancy dress to amuse the family, who knows, this year it may be so again.

Earlier this month the duchess spent three days in hospital after suffering severe morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum, which leaves expectant mothers unable to keep food or liquids down.

She was then ordered by doctors to have a period of rest at home at Kensington Palace, which meant she was missed some engagements.

Also, despite the intention of spending Christmas day and the majority of the festive period with the Middletons, The Duke and Duchess have expressed that they intend to visit Sandringham for a short while during the Christmas period.
