Earlier this week it was confirmed by Buckingham Palace Prince William and Kate’s first child will be titled Prince or Princess <NAME> of Cambridge.
News of the child’s title has been met with great delight by residents of Cambridge, with members of the public and council officials welcoming the decision.
“It can only be good news for Cambridge,” former Cambridge mayor Cllr Shelia Stuart said. “Everyone is so excited about it. The whole country is waiting for the birth.”

Cambridge’s current deputy mayor, Cllr George Pippas added: “I am happily surprised by this incredible news. It is wonderful.”
“We could not have wished for a greater honour. Now we are all sitting on our hands waiting for our prince or princess to arrive,” the deputy mayor added.
John Bridge, chief executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, also revealed he believed that having a Prince or Princess carrying the name Cambridge will give the city a boost in recognition from around the world.
“The duke and duchess may well become king and queen but the prince or princess will remain for a long period until they become the monarch.
“Cambridge is already an international icon as far as the UK is concerned but this news enhances its status in the world,” John said.
Local residents have also revealed their joy of the Prince or Princess carrying the name of Cambridge.
“I am so pleased, it will be fantastic for the area,” revealed local Fiona Edwards.
Prince William was made the Duke of Cambridge on April 29, 2011, on the morning of his wedding to Kate Middleton, who upon marriage became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.

The Dukedom of Cambridge was created in 1801 but has not been used since 1904 when the 2nd Duke of Cambridge died.
William and Kate are currently awaiting the arrival of their first child, and the Duchess is expected to give birth in the next week.
What title? Baby Cambridge won’t have a substantive title. I don’t get what these people are excited about, title-wise, that is.
