Blogger

The Earl and Countess landed in Glasgow Airport at around 12 noon today. They arrived and were greeted by management of the project outside the Emirates Stadium in Glasgow.

People began tweeting at around 11 o’clock of an imminent VIP arrival. There was a large police presence for the escort and at the airport initially. One tweet read:

Those using the gym facilities, which happen to be next to the stadium were surprised to see the royal arrival this morning, many not even aware that Their Royal Highnesses were in the area today.

One person tweeted:

The Royal party are now in the process of touring the Emirates Arena and Their Royal Highnesses will next visit The Quarriers Stopover project and the Donald Dewar Leisure Centre, Drumchapel, Glasgow.

Tomorrow, the Earl and Countess will be joined by Prince Charles (known as the Duke of Rothesay) where they’ll open the new Tamar Manoukian Outdoor Centre at Dumfries House, in East Ayrshire, Scotland.

Their Royal Highnesses will be greeted by children from the uniformed youth services represented by Youth United. Each unit will demonstrate skills and compete in an obstacle race and the event will conclude with a fly past by three Typhoons of 6 squadron RAF Leuchars.

Also on Friday, the Earl and Countess will visit the Astute-class Submarine Building at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness.
