David Beckham praises ‘gentleman’ Prince William

David Beckham has spoken of his friendship with Prince William, describing the father-to-be as a gentleman.

“We’ve seen William grow from that young boy into an unbelievable gentleman,” David told Sky News. “That as a father is really important.”

David, with wife Victoria Beckham, attended the Prince’s wedding to the Duchess of Cambridge in 2011 and the couple were cheered by the waiting crowds as they arrived at Westminster Abbey for the big day.

William and David became friends after they both worked together for the London Olympic bid in 2007.

In the exclusive interview with Sky News, the football hero went on to say he believes William and Kate will be amazing parents as they are so compassionate with children.

“They’re going to be amazing parents, because they are so loving towards children,” David said.

As the world awaits the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child, speculation has been building about what the royal couple may name their first child. David recommended to the couple what a good name may be.

“David’s pretty good. I think they should go for David, if it’s a boy,” he joked.

David was speaking to the news station to discuss his new role as a Sky Ambassador which saw him make a surprise visit to the winners of a sports project in Bedford.

Prince William and wife Kate are currently awaiting the arrival of their first child, and it is expected Kate will give birth at some point this week.

Kate is planning on giving birth in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.
