Celebrities take to Twitter to congratulate William and Kate

As news of the royal baby’s arrival broke around the world, celebrities took to their twitter pages to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their new little Prince.

British singer Cheryl Cole led the heartfelt messages tweeting “Congratulations to William and Kate!! So happy they have a healthy baby and everyone is good. Can’t wait to see him now, #RoyalBaby.”

Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who recently spoke of her fond memories of meeting Prince Charles and Prince William, following with “It’s a boy!!! Special times ahead for Kate and William. Xxxx”.

Across the pond, American chat-show host Ellen DeGeneres sent her message reading “It’s a boy! So happy for my cousin Kate and the future King of England,” while comedian Joan Rivers joked “So relieved that his name won’t include the words Ivy or Apple.”

Super model of the moment, Cara Delevingne, who recently met Prince Charles and Camilla, tweeted “It’s a boy!!! Congratulations William and Kate!!X”

Jackie Collins joined the celebrity fans using her Twitter page to say “Congrats to Prince William and the lovely Kate. A bouncing baby boy!! yes!!”

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden seemed excited by the arrival tweeting “WONDERFUL NEWS! A little Prince,” while Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing suggested the “Royal Baby to do the new @burberry Campaign, Move aside Romeo,” on his Twitter page.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby boy on Monday afternoon, after being admitted to the Lindo Wing at 5.30am on the same morning.

The wife of Prince William welcomed their first child at 4.24pm, with the announcement being confirmed at around 8.30pm. It was decided last minute a statement would be released and then the easel placed outside the Palace.

The new mum and baby are currently spending the night at the Lindo Wing and it is likely Prince William, Kate and the new little Prince will leave the hospital later today.
