At last Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a little boy at 4:24pm Monday in London at the Lindo Wing with the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, by her side.
To celebrate the Royal birth, landmarks around the world are lighting up blue.
The London Eye is lit up red, white, and blue for the little prince, and the BT Tower displayed the proud announcement this evening: “It’s a boy.”
The President of the United States, Barack Obama, shared his congratulations to the new parents via Twitter saying, “So pleased to congratulate The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the joyous occasion of the birth of their first child.”

David Cameron, the Prime Minister, also issued a statement saying: “It is wonderful news from St Mary’s, Paddington, and I am sure that right across the country, and indeed right across the Commonwealth, people will be celebrating and wishing the royal couple well.”
In Canada for the next two evenings, Niagara Falls will be blue for the royal baby boy. From the Niagara Falls Commission, NPC Chair and Niagara Falls Illumination Board member Janice Thomson said, “We thought this was a special way to commemorate the birth of our future King and congratulate the royal couple on the arrival of their first child.”
So what should we expect next? Tuesday we should see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge leaving the hospital with their bundle of joy, and posing for photographs on the steps of Lindo Wing much like Princess Diana and Prince Charles did in 1982 after the birth of Prince William. It’s speculated that the name may be announced Tuesday as well, or quite possibly take several days before it is released to the public.
