Canadian Designers the Duchess of Cambridge should wear on #RoyalTourCanada

Royal Tour fever has hit and everyone is excited for what could possibly be the first Royal Tour for Princess Charlotte. So far Kensington Palace has announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit British Columbia and the Yukon in Canada this autumn.  As I am from British Columbia I am making a few predictions of the upcoming trip- such as cities they will visit.

Many Royal Watchers favourite part of any tour is the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe. She always includes both British designers as well as designers from her host country. Canada has some very talented designers and these are just some of them that Kate should take a look at when curating her Canadian fashion.

Designed by Edmontonian Derek Jagodzinsky, he is fast becoming a Canadian to watch. The Indigenous designer pays homage to his culture while providing the modern women with top quality ready-to-wear. Most recently, Sophie Trudeau, wife of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, wore a red LUXX dress from the FW 2016/17 collection. Another red dress from the designer that I would love to see Kate in is the one pictured above.

Jason Wu

Although he now operates out of New York, NY, Jason Wu grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia after moving to Canada from Taiwan at the age of nine. In April this year, Wu was named international Canadian designer of the year at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards. Some of his clientele include that of Michelle Obama who has chosen his designs for both inaugurations as well as many other occasions.

Greta Constantine

Run by designers Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong, the Toronto-based label caters to luxury ready-to-wear. Started in 2006, the team has dressed some of the biggest names in the world, including Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham, and Iman.

Erdem was established in London in 2005, but the designer behind the fashion house, Erdem Moralioglu was born in Montreal and grew up in between Canada and England. The Duchess of Cambridge is already a big fan of Erdem and has worn his designs on many occasions. The above picture is from Kate’s 2011 Canadian tour where she wore this blue Erdem creation. As Kate is known for her ability to recycle outfits this would be a great chance for her to pull out one of her old favourites and combine both English and Canadian culture in one dress.

One thing we know for sure; anything the Duchess chooses to wear will be sold out in minutes!
